Detailed Carving

St. Johns Eagle

From block to realized form.
Full realization of project in statue.

This set of 13 images shows the complete journey of the eagle carved for St Johns School. Leatherhead. It was carved in a Bath limestone, Stoke Ground Top Bed. The original eagle stood on the top the headmasters house gable. The specification was to reproduce a copy of the remaining eagle which resided at the school in an extremely damaged state. It was put in statue in the spring of 2014 at the front of the school.

Our involvement taking many months in preparation and construction. Completion Feb 2011.

Englefield Green re-ordering

I fairly large re-ordering project that involved large amounts of cleaning, door widening for disabled access and general stone repairs for us.  The main element of the project for us was creating a new external door opening in the existing wall of the North transpet.  We had to carve all the individual element off stie after taking detailed measurements.  Then cut thorugh 800mm roughly of original walling with enough allowance for fitting.

Undertaken in 2013.

Lettering

St Johns school war memorial

Front view of finished plaque.

This piece of lettering was in conjunction with the refurbishment of the war memorial in the school grounds of St. Johns Leatherhead.  This consisted of the addition of a new Bathstone cross, cleaning the whole monument and this commemorative plaque in Yorkstone.  The Yorkstone was chosen to match an older such plaque on the opposite face of the memorial.
